About EqualDocs

EqualDocs is an AI-native law firm built around the two questions every client starts with: do you even need a lawyer — and if you do, who is the right one? Our free AI intake answers honestly in minutes, and licensed lawyers take it from there, with clear quotes before any work begins.

EqualDocs is founded and led by Me Ningsi Mei, a lawyer of the Barreau du Québec with ten years in cross-border civil, commercial, and immigration practice. She has served hundreds of SME clients and handled hundreds of complex files — including the well-known interview-refusal cases for CSQ applications under the PEQ program — working alongside a deep network of lawyers, notaries, and immigration consultants.

Trilingual in Mandarin, English, and French, she immigrated to Montreal as a child and built her practice at the meeting point of Quebec's francophone and Chinese-Canadian communities. She trained at leading firms — a summer at King & Wood Mallesons and as a lawyer at Yingke Law Firm — and worked under the guidance of renowned business-law experts to specialize across various fields of commercial law. Before law, she was a research scientist (B.Sc., McGill; M.Sc., Queen's, with NSERC-funded, peer-reviewed publications) — the discipline behind EqualDocs' focus on verification and data.

Where we operate

Open across Canada — and accepting matters in the United States.

Our own registered firm is in Quebec today. Elsewhere, matters are handled by licensed partner firms — so clients on both sides of the Canada–US border can be served.

Why it's hard to copy

Not just another AI law firm.

A market others can't easily enter, a founder others can't replicate, and a data flywheel that compounds with every matter.

1

A lawyer founder, ten years deep

Built by a practising lawyer who already knows these clients, these cases, and where they go wrong — not a generic AI bolted onto law.

2

Trust-based distribution

We reach and earn the trust of underserved, multilingual clients — in their own language. A wedge that's hard to reach cold, and repeatable market by market.

3

A data flywheel that compounds

Every matter, structured and lawyer-verified, makes the system more accurate and more efficient — better answers at lower cost over time.

4

Regulatory-native by design

Built as a licensed law firm from day one — not software retrofitted to comply. A model designed to expand jurisdiction by jurisdiction.

Start with a question — it is free.

Tell us what is going on and see how we can help. No wall of questions, no weeks of silence, no price shock.
